Avalon Entertainment is owned by DJ Jose Castro and was founded in 1986. Initially started as a small operation, Jose quickly found that his referral business and the demand by other area disc jockeys to rent his state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems would lead him to add associate disc jockeys and sub-contractor staff to assist with setting up massive light displays, game show sets, and giant audio and video productions for some of Maryland and D.C.'s largest corporate and individual clients. Today, Avalon Entertainment still receives a large percent of its business from corporate clients, but wedding receptions and ceremonies are the number one event handled by the firm. Couples can trust that Jose Castro and his team of associate disc jockeys will handle their event flawlessly from start to finish. Jose is the 2010-2012 President of the Baltimore Area Disc Jockey Association (BADJA) and has also served in roles as the group's Public Relations Manager and Membership Director. Jose is also a member of the Washington, D.C. chapter of The American Disc Jockey Association, and will serve as a part of the newly formed United States Disc Jockey Association.
